Management of Impacted Canines

Surgical exposure and orthodontic guidance of impacted canine teeth.

Overview

Canine teeth (eye teeth) play a crucial role in your bite and smile. When canines fail to erupt properly, they become impacted, which can cause damage to adjacent teeth and disrupt your bite alignment. Management of impacted canines typically involves collaboration between an oral surgeon and orthodontist.

Dr Thao Truong surgically exposes impacted canines and attaches an orthodontic bracket, allowing your orthodontist to gently guide the tooth into its proper position over several months. This preserves the natural tooth and achieves optimal bite function and aesthetics.
